Proper installation of a distribution box with a cabinet ensures safety, compliance, and reliable power distribution.

Site Selection and Placement

Choose a dry, accessible location with good ventilation, away from water, flammable, or corrosive substances. For wall-mounted boxes, ensure the wall can support the weight using expansion bolts, dovetail bolts, or split bolts depending on the wall type. The typical installation height is around 1.

Cabinet Installation

Place the cabinet on the foundation section steel or installation surface according to construction drawings. For embedded cabinets, ensure the panel is flush with the wall after installation.

Wiring and Circuit Connection

Install circuit breakers, fuses, or RCDs/RCBOs according to load requirements. Connect input and output wires to the corresponding terminals, ensuring tight and secure connections.

Dress and route wires neatly inside the cabinet, leaving space for heat dissipation and avoiding sharp edges. Label each circuit clearly for future maintenance and troubleshooting.

Grounding and Safety

Connect each cabinet to the foundation section steel using copper wire, adding a spring washer to prevent loosening. Ensure each cabinet door is connected to the PE row with a copper braided wire for safety. Include protection devices like surge protectors to safeguard circuits.

Testing and Commissioning

Perform visual inspections to check for loose connections or misalignment. Conduct insulation resistance tests using a qualified tester to verify proper insulation. Only power on the system after confirming all connections, grounding, and protective devices are correctly installed.

Maintenance

Schedule regular inspections to ensure long-term reliability and compliance with local electrical codes. Keep records of installation details for future reference and safety audits.
