Key Considerations

Performance: Included routers are typically optimized for the ISP's network, offering features like multi-gig ports, mesh networking, and advanced Wi-Fi standards (Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7). Coverage: Many ISPs provide mesh extenders or allow additional units to ensure strong Wi-Fi throughout larger homes. Ownership and Fees: The router remains the property of the ISP.

If you cancel service, you may need to return the equipment within a specified period to avoid replacement fees. Optional Personal Router: Most providers allow customers to use their own router, but using the ISP-provided router ensures full compatibility and support. In summary, subscribing to a fiber optic internet service generally includes a high-performance router as part of the package, often with advanced features and optional extenders, while giving the flexibility to use your own equipment if desired.

This ensures reliable connectivity and simplifies setup for most users.
