Material Selection

Segregation: Separate power and signal cables using dedicated trays to minimize electromagnetic interference. Mechanical Requirements: Ensure trays are level, plumb, and securely mounted.

Horizontal deviation should not exceed 2 mm per meter, and vertical deviation should not exceed 3 mm per meter. Support and Load: Select tray width and thickness based on cable weight and quantity to prevent deformation under full load.

Firestopping Techniques

Sealing Penetrations: When trays pass through walls, floors, or slabs, seal openings with fire-rated boards, firestop packs, firestop mastic, or mineral wool. Packing and Gaps: Firestop packs should be placed in sequence, with gaps not exceeding 1 cm² and packing thickness at least 24 cm. Backing Plates: For large openings, install fire-resistant backing plates before sealing.

Waterstops: At floor or slab penetrations, provide waterstops of at least 50 mm and firestopping of 20–30 mm. Intumescent Sealants: Products like IC 15WB Caulk or 3M Fire Barrier Putty expand under heat to block fire and smoke, protecting cables and structural steel.
