The distribution box contains electrical appliances

Electrical appliances are not included inside a distribution box; the box contains protective and control devices that manage power to appliances. A distribution box, also known as a distribution board or breaker box, is an enclosure that distributes electricity from the main supply to various circuits throughout a building, ensuring safety and organized control of electrical power. It houses components such as circuit breakers, fuses, bus bars, residual current devices, contactors, and measurement instruments, which protect circuits from overloads, short circuits, and other electrical faults.

Electrical appliances like refrigerators, air conditioners, or lighting fixtures are not physically installed inside the distribution box. Instead, the distribution box provides individual circuits that supply power to these appliances safely. When a fault occurs, the protective devices in the box disconnect the affected circuit, preventing damage to the appliances and reducing fire risks.

Distribution boxes can be categorized into power distribution boxes and lighting distribution boxes, depending on the type of circuits they manage. Modern boxes may also include smart monitoring systems for energy management and remote control, but they still do not house the appliances themselves. In summary, a distribution box is a control and protection hub for electrical circuits, not a container for appliances.

Appliances are connected to the circuits managed by the box, which ensures their safe operation and protection from electrical faults.
