Cable tray T-junction opening method

To open and install a T-junction on a cable tray, use a T-branch bracket inserted into the tray and secure it with screws before connecting it to the main tray.

Step-by-

Step Guide1.

Select the Appropriate T-

Branch Bracket Choose a T-branch bracket compatible with your cable tray type (e.g., KRA/KRB or standard perforated/solid trays) and size. For KRA/KRB trays, the TKU bracket is commonly used. 2.

Prepare the Cable Tray Ensure the main cable tray and the branch tray are clean and free of obstructions. Measure and mark the location where the T-junction will be installed to maintain proper alignment. 3.

Insert the T-

Branch Bracket Push the T-branch bracket into the branch cable tray. Align it so that it fits snugly inside the tray. The bracket provides structural support and ensures the branch tray connects securely to the main tray.

4. Secure the Bracket Use the included screw set to fasten the T-branch bracket to the branch tray. Tighten the screws evenly to prevent misalignment or wobbling.

5. Connect to the Main Tray Place the branch tray with the attached T-branch bracket onto the main cable tray at the marked location. Ensure the trays are level and aligned.

Additional bolts or nuts may be used to secure the connection depending on the tray system. 6. Check Alignment and Stability Verify that the T-junction is properly aligned and stable.

Adjust if necessary to maintain a smooth cable path and prevent stress on the cables. 7. Optional: Install Covers or Supports If your cable tray system uses covers or additional support brackets, install them to protect the cables and maintain compliance with electrical standards.

Tips for Installation

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific cable tray system. Maintain the minimum bend radius for cables exiting the tray to prevent damage. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling metal trays and tools.

Ensure the T-junction does not obstruct airflow if using ventilated trays. By following these steps, you can efficiently open and install a T-junction on a cable tray, ensuring a secure and organized cable routing system.
